The importance of interregional cooperation for European projects

Director of the EIfI-Tech, Chris Ashe, was interviewed this spring regarding the benefits of interregional cooperation and the Interreg Europe programme during the high volume “Europe, Let’s Cooperate!“ Interreg Europe event. Ashe was interviewed following his appearance in the expert panel session on Action Plan development within European projects.

In his brief interview following the expert panel session, Chris Ashe sums up why interregional cooperation is important from his perspective: “Without interregional cooperation, there would be no sharing or exchanging on concepts, no sharing of best practices – really helping each other…“. Interregional cooperation promotes cohesion and supports regions with their policies, ultimately bringing project partners and their European peers closer together to help them find new solutions to their varying territorial challenges.

According to Interreg Europe, ‘’Interreg Europe helps regions not to reinvent the wheel. We bring them together so that they can share the best way to tackle their territorial challenges.’’
